So I went to the Palais Theatre in St Kilda here in Melbourne, expecting to find
Gomez playing. All I found was a dark exterior and two drunk people equally as confused as me... We soon figured out that we were at the wrong venue and Gomez was in fact playing at the Palace in Melbourne CBD, I had thought of offering them a ride into the city but decided not to as I was pretty sure they wouldn't stop talking the whole way in - and I could tell from our brief encounter that it wasn't going to be interesting.
So anyway - I got to the PALACE in time to catch most the support band
Leader Cheetah, I can't say I was really paying much attention to them as I was still angry at paying $10 for about 15minutes parking in St Kilda and having to high tail it to the city where I got to pay a further $9 but they received a warm reaction from the crowd.
Gomez appeared and it was all on - three songs - GO! it was over pretty quick and we were escorted from the photographers pit and out the back. Unlike The National, who escorted me from the building after my three songs we were allowed to stay for the gig. I caught maybe 5 songs, but thought that the one I wanted to hear was probably gona be an encore so I left...
just like that.
